In 9th grade, after I had realized that I am, in fact, a wrestling fan. My buddies James Wooten and Matt Saunders started kicking around the idea of starting a little wrestling organization. "I'm in!" I said, secretly thinking that we would never really get one started. The name they decided on was BBCW - Big Belt Championship Wrestling. Harmless fun, none of us would take it too seriously. I was surprised one day when James, Matt, and Matt Eller (another of my long time best friends) showed up at my house with a camera and a bell. We had the one event, which was great, but then I thought I was too cool to wrestle with my friends, for some dumb reason, and I quit.

While I was sitting on my laurels gaining weight, the guys changed it to XTCW - Xtreme Teenage Championship Wrestling. by that time, they were starting to get it all together. And despite the horrible name, they had several new wrestlers that came and went, as well as Brandon Shourd and Matt's big brother Michael Eller (we miss You, Buddy). Brandon, James, and Matt Saunders started planning in advance, so then things really started to improve.

The 'Fat Chance' Larry Coleman Story

  For a rather long time, I've known one of the most unique people alive, Larry Coleman. So when they decided to change BBCW to XTCW (and become more serious), I quit. Then UWA came about, and I was invited back into the fold. I knew my character from 9th grade (Fatty the Kick A** Man) wouldn't cut it, even though we could now say the A-word on our shows. I needed something more unique. Due to the bad planning and scheduling of our shows at the time, I had about 6 months to decide. I knew I had to put Fat into the name, or else I wouldn't be happy. Then I decided on Larry Coleman, and I decided to try to copy the real Larry's personality. I couldn't do that, so I have been gradually making 'Fat Chance' more like me... a fairly tough guy, who is smart, yet slightly slow in the common sense department. Unlike me, 'Fat Chance' is a complete redneck. Now I have to be careful or I'll rip off Stone Cold Steve Austin. However, I can't wrestle... at all.. I mean I SUCK!! I am the worst wrestler in UWA, now. I'm the Hardcore Champion, but I can't wrestle... wait, hardcore matches rarely involve wrestling!
